Greetings and blessings to the beloved members of Springfield AME Church and the Monticello community. I am Reverend Annarene F. Wineglass, and it is both an honor and a privilege to serve as your newly elected pastor. With deep gratitude and a heart full of hope, I’d like to share with you my journey, aspirations, and the vision I have for our cherished congregation and the surrounding community.
My Spiritual Journey
My path to the AME ministry began at the New Mt. Zion Church
(NMZ) in Tallahassee, FL, where I served faithfully long before receiving my license to preach in 2013 (10 years). Prior to my membership at NMZ, I served at Philadelphia P.B. Church for over 28 years. I worked in many capacities including Auxiliary Secretary, Church School and Vacation Bible School Instructor, Financial Secretary, Member of Adult Choir, Treasurer, and Usher. During my time at NMZ, I witnessed the transformative power of faith and the incredible impact that a loving and supportive community can have on people’s lives. It was in this nurturing environment that my calling to serve God and His people was reaffirmed and strengthened.
Educational Background
To better equip myself for this divine mission, I pursued a Master’s degree in Divinity, a journey that deepened my understanding of theology, pastoral care, and the art of compassionate leadership. This education has allowed me to explore the profound teachings of Christ and connect them to the complex needs of the modern world. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University (Go Rattlers!).
Vision for Springfield AME Church
My vision for Springfield AME Church is to see it become a beacon of hope, a spiritual home for all who seek solace and strength, and a vibrant resource for our community. Our congregation will stand as a lighthouse, guiding lost souls toward the light of God’s love, grace, and redemption.
Our Goals and What We Believe
Community Engagement
We will actively engage with the community, offering support, guidance, and a welcoming atmosphere. Our doors will always be open to those seeking refuge and spiritual growth.
Youth Mentoring
It is my passion to nurture and guide the youth of our congregation and community. Through mentorship programs and activities, we will empower our young members to become leaders who carry the torch of faith into the future.
Serving the Sick and Shut-In
We will extend our outreach to the sick and shut-in members of our community, ensuring that they are cared for, visited, and provided with the spiritual nourishment they need during their times of difficulty.
Education and Skills Development
Our church will be a hub for educational and skill development programs, enabling members of all ages to flourish in all aspects of life.
I invite you, my dear friends and guests, to join us in worship and fellowship at Springfield AME Church. Come and be part of our mission to build a stronger, more compassionate community rooted in the teachings of Christ. Your presence will not only enrich our congregation but also bring you the warmth of a loving spiritual family.
Together, we will embark on a journey of faith, service, and growth. Join us as we strive to be a beacon of hope, a place of support, and a catalyst for positive change in Monticello. Your journey with us is just beginning, and we look forward to walking this path of faith and service with you.
